An Academic Advisor meeting with an SJC student

Academic Advising

San Juan College’s Advising Team is here to guide you in your educational journey!

SJC Freshman students attending San Juan CollegeAny student who has completed less than 24 credit hours is required to meet with an Academic Advisor. We encourage all students to make an appointment if you need assistance with changing your degree program, determining your progress toward meeting degree requirements, planning a course sequence, or creating a plan to overcome obstacles interfering with your academic success.

Working with an Academic Advisor helps ensure you start and stay on track to achieve educational and career goals. Your academic, career and life choices are yours to make, but Academic Advisors can assist you by encouraging and guiding you through programs, graduation requirements, policies, procedures, registering for and dropping classes, and also by referring students to appropriate campus resources.

Your Advisor is here to help you meet your educational goals.

If you are unsure who your Advisor is, call our office at (505) 566-3404 and we'll get you connected.
